“Thank you for letting me be part of your story.”
The Story Behind "The Baby Witch".
When thinking about a "Witch" one tends to have a specific image in their minds, and likely find it difficult to determine the connection between a "witch" and a "baby"....
Let me tell you a story.....
When families reach out to me to enquire about services that I offer, usually the very first question is "are you a doula?"...... I ALWAYS stumble over the words to truly describe what exactly "I AM".....
I am a Registered Nurse (BSN- MSN) specializing in Labor and Delivery.
I maintain multiple additional certifications and course works.
I maintain licensure and specialty certifications through mandatory hours of continuing education yearly.
I support families throughout the perinatal and birth experiences with evidenced based, holistic approach to birth. Minimizing medical interventions with holistic interventions, targeted positions, release work, etc... based on client presentations, fetal heart rate tracings, contraction patterns, client specific history and diagnosis... all pertinent to their current status.... allowing for an optimal birth experience, while maintaining safety for mom and baby.
I teach the science behind proposed interventions and needs pertinent to the individualized prenatal and birth path of the client.
I offer evidenced based practice and standards of care education to facilitate understanding that allows families to make informed decisions for their care needs.
I advocate on behalf of clients and families individualized desires. I am a keeper of this “sacred space”.
I have provided care for 1000's of births...
Wow, that’s a lot to digest....
Basically..... What I do connects all the dots specific to the individual mom, individual baby, individualized situation and particular birth desires.... It's all connected....
What is a doula?
Keeper of the flow, labor, birth space.
One-to-one support.
A doula's is a non-medical professional, who provides guidance, has the goal and role to help a client feel safe and comfortable.
There currently are no mandatory licensure, certifications or credentialling requirements for doulas to practice in the United States...Essentially, anyone can call themselves a doula.
To be a certified doula, one must complete:
- A birth workshop (16 hours)
- A childbirth education course (1 day)
- A Lactation support course (3 hours)
- Attend 3 Births
As you can see, it was difficult to truly describe exactly what I offer and what I am, until a very dear client gave me my title....
As she was trying to explain to her husband what I “actually” do.... She looked at him.... looked at me.... and then back at him and states very matter-of-factly....
"We refer to her as a witch, but for babies.".... essentially "The Baby Witch".
I am a medical professional, that offers one-to-one perinatal birth support, with a holistic and proactive approach to the prenatal period and birth, backed by science, intuition, and trust in YOUR bodies ability....
"I look forward to being a part of your story" -T.B.W.
Are you a Doula?
Well, kinda…. I act as a doula, but with some extra flare…. Like “A Unicorn” or even better...."The Baby Witch"!

What does all this mean?
In a nut shell, this all means that I have significantly more training then a Doula, that allows me to offer a blended medical and holistic approach. This allows me to help keep you and your baby safe, while promoting an optimized birth exierence specific to YOUR dream Pregnancy and Birth.
Preferred Outline of Care:
I like to start seeing clients at 20 weeks.
At 20 weeks, we meet every 4 weeks until 32 weeks.
Then at 32 weeks, every 2 weeks until 38 weeks
Then weekly until delivery….
A Mothers Blessing is provided @ 36-39 weeks
Once in labor, I can early labor at home with you intermittently ….
Go to the hospital with you for induction….
Go to the hospital with you for labor….
I will stay with you through delivery until 2 hours post-delivery.
(Balancing you the throughout with release work and positioning.)
I will then follow up with you after your discharge home in another visit:)
This equates to roughly 12 visits, either in your home or in my Zen room.
Each visit consists of a balancing session and release work.
Why All The Appointments?
Woohoo! Am I glad you asked!
At these appointments, we incorporate movements for the mobility and stability they bring. These movements bring us into a balanced and ready state for birth, equipped for a more efficient birth and overall better functioning body.
The best part, all of the techniques and movements we do in our appointments directly transfer to the birth environment….
What Does That Even Mean?
It means that we make them “intuitively available”.
BAM! You now know what to expect during birth!
During labor and birth, we go into a different space in our brains… a space that focuses on intuition…. We no longer live in the thinking, planning brain….
Why Does This Matter?
We have access to intuitive wisdom…. The very things we have been doing in preparation to this very moment of birth!!! You will already know the positions, movements, releases, breath work….. all of it…. All these things prepare you and optimize meeting your baby!
Really!
Best part…. You just go there! Because you have practiced! Without this practice and position, technique, movement connections, we would never “know” how to get there in both our bodies and our brains.
Do you remember the phrases “it’s like riding a bike”? Well, same with the movements and release work that promotes the best outcomes and vaginal birth! You don't even think about it, you just go!
Let’s make your birth experience “like riding a bike” but way more magical!
I’m here to help;)
